Sue Hassel was raised on a farm in the midwest, has sung professionally in Europe and the U.S.  She holds a Bachelors and Masters Degree in applied voice.  Originally, her voice was considered to be a hoch dramatischer sopran and early on she was featured singing the Ballo Amelia, Aida, Lady Macbeth, Turandot; and with orchestra in the heroic Wagner and Strauss excerpts.

After singing with orchestra in Bulgaria and her arrival in New York City, Ms. Hassel has now added the Italian heroic dramatic soprano repertoire including the roles of  Norma, Anna Bolena, Semiramide, Vestale etc.// Verdi's Lombardi Giselda, Vespre Elena, Traviata, Aroldo, Lady Macbeth, Trovatore and Forze Leonoras and Aida // Puccini's Tosca, Turandot, Minnie as well as her core German repertoire: Wagner's Isolde, the three Bruenhilde's, Kundry, Strauss' Elektra, Salome, Kaiserin and Helene.  The voice has been described as silver, opulent and clean with an easy brilliant top.  It is one of the biggest voices going, but with tremendous flexibility. Her oratorio rep includes: Verdi Requiem, Rossini Stabat Mater, Beethoven Missa Solemnis, Engedi and Ninth Symphony, Bach cantatas # 51 and 210, Mendelssohn, and Handel.

In the last three years Ms. Hassel has branched out into concert/recital work as SUE HASSEL, SOPRANO & PIANO, and as of July 2008, Ms. Hassel debuts as a solo pianist with an all-Liszt recital featuring the B-Minor Sonata, the Dante Sonata and Weinen, Klagen variations with three encores: Liszt Hungarian Rhapsody No. 6, Lorelei, Funerailles.  Ms. Hassel has served as music director, coach and voice teacher in the New York area.  You can visit her other location at:
